RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

My heart is heavy this week.

It’s not my usual vibe here, but with the devastation in my fave city, Asheville, NC, and throughout the South, it’s hard to stay upbeat. If you want to help, consider donating to the Red Cross or a vetted local organization.

Before that, I had a fun time as the opening and closing keynote speaker for the Association for Home and Hospice Care of North Carolina. The 2.5-day event kicked off with a DJ and rooftop dance party at the Embassy Suites in Wilmington, right on the water. I danced the night away with the group, mocktail in hand (thank you restaurants and bars for making this more common!). The next day, I spoke about how to ignite their focus as leaders, and I closed by sharing how to ignite the focus of their teams. Sold out of books and got some incredible feedback!

One of the unexpected highlights was a coffee date with Andrea Anderson of the Productive Environment Institute, where I earned my first productivity certification, and Demetrius Farrior, a Productive Environment Specialist and Lifestyle Modification Coach. We recreated a photo from 11 years ago!

After that, I retreated to my favorite garden cottage for four days of book editing, prepping to send it off to my beta readers.

I also spent the weekend working on book marketing for my January launch.

SO excited about this book and I need your help with a crucial piece.

After an initial test run, I've narrowed it down to two titles. Can you be a helper and choose your favorite in this 30-second survey by 4:00 pm EST today?

I also rescued 475 accountants from their inboxes and even stopped by NCSU’s Park Scholars program to teach email etiquette to college students. The top complaints about this age are - lack of professionalism, unclear subject lines, and poor grammar. One thing I expressed to them was the AI and Botox analogy. Curious? Listen here.

Concierge Lisa and I also carved out time at the Oberlin Library for our Q3 reflections and Q4 planning—easy peasy with our Powered Path Playbooks®.

When you get this, I’ll be starting a training for a biotech company on how to Find Their Meeting Mojo. Then, I'll be gearing up for a weekend of music—first, seeing Concierge Lisa perform jazz with Sidecar Social Club, and then watching my hubby rock out with Jack the Radio. I’ve got plans to hike and caffeinate with my friend Sara, and wrap up the weekend in a float tank.

On with the Weekender!

Mother Nature forgot Raleigh's in the South. We had real snow, and I went five straight days without stepping outside. That meant a lot of comedy watched, a few podcasts recorded, and a couple of books finished. I also chopped my hair off and felt instantly lighter. Long hair isn’t me - too fussy, too much work. Back to my low-maintenance self, and loving it. I spent an evening with the NC State Park Scholars - one of my favorite groups every year - on Breaking Free From Busy. We talked about...

It's been a rough(ish) couple of weeks. Scene 1: San Juan. I flew in to keynote for PrimeGlobal and felt a cold creeping in. I left the networking event early, slept, and still woke up scratchy on Tuesday, keynote day. I powered through, lost most of my voice a few hours later, but still walked Old San Juan with my friend Wendy (I didn't feel terrible, and I wasn't going to miss seeing the city). Highlight: a coquito iced latte in a tiny café. Not-a-highlight: realizing my $10.18 drink was ~5...
