RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

From stepping into the vibrant beats of Step Afrika to the powerful performances at the Justice Theater Project's Skeleton Crew, I've been on a cultural high!

I also presented to over 550 eager accountants about extinguishing the inferno in their inboxes. I shared how to Work Well Remotely with another 596 folks, including healthy habits like transitions - one of which is my daily dance break! When 5:00 pm rolls around, I'm shaking it off to my favorite dance song courtesy of Alexa. Then, it's straight to my infrared sauna for reading, crossword puzzles, or thinkitating.

Speaking of highlights, delivering a keynote at the picturesque Pinehurst Resort was not too shabby. Helping the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals tackle their focus & attention challenges was incredibly rewarding because they're such a fun group. Fun fact: Did you know there are different types of multitasking? Background tasking, like listening to our Health-Powered Productivity podcast while brushing your teeth in the morning, works great because you aren't doing two things competing with one another in your brain. Reading a text on your phone while you're watching a movie (or typing an email while you're in a video meeting...which I'm sure you NEVER do) is switch-tasking, and no one is good at itnope, not even you.

Have Apple products? I've enabled Find My on all my devices and have Airtags on my backpack and keys. I left my backpack at the resort and didn't realize it until I got home. I went into full soaring heart rate and blood pressure, sick-to-my-stomach panic mode, clicked Find My, and could see that it was at the resort and not moving (whew!). I called security, and within about 10 minutes, they found my backpack under the tablecloth of my book table. HIGH FIVES to Tina Starling and Marie Black at the Pinehurst Resort for finding it and to HFTP member Matthew Capasso for driving it back home to Raleigh for me, saving me an additional 3 hours of driving. I've sent thank you notes and gift cards to all of them and spoke with the Pinehurst Resort manager. It's part of my 50 by 50 challenge to send hand-written notes and gifts to service workers for exceptional service.

Now, let's talk books! I was featured on Written Word Media's speaker series yesterday to discuss my book Work Well. Play More! Productive, Clutter-Free, Health-Living - One Step at a Time to explain why I broke it up into 12 months of behavior change with levels of novice, pro, and master. Hint: we're not all starting from the same place, and habits take more than 21 days to create!

Hey, Portland, Oregon! Got a team itching for some training or consulting? I'll swing by your beautiful city on May 8th and have a few open days beforehand. Let's chat and save on those travel costs!

And let's make February even sweeter than the high-end chocolate you received. Sign on the dotted line before month's end for any speaking agreement and I'll sprinkle in an extra Ask the Expert session as a cherry on top of celebrating my eSpeakers Master Virtual Presenter certification.

Lastly, when I get messages like this, my heart sings the highest, glass-breaking note it can.

When you get this, I'll be getting caffeinated with fellow speaker (and dance floor dynamo) Mitch Savoie Hill and have a weekend filled with making Lego flowers, hiking, and pizza with pals.

On with the Weekender!
