RaderCo Weekender Snapshot - smarter reading for ADHD brains and a way to break unhealthy screen habits.

Last week, we wrapped the Reclaim Your Workday Action Club pilot, and it exceeded my expectations in the best possible way.

This cohort wasn’t about tips. People implemented theme days, stopped “checking email all day,” built vacation buffer days, and started protecting focus blocks. One participant told me, “I took the first vacation I can remember where I didn’t think about work.”

Heck Yeah!

For an eight-week program, the attendance and completed commitments were well above industry average, but what really had me happy-dancing was the feedback.

Brianna said, “Action Club has changed how I approach my workday. I prioritize better, sleep better, and feel better in general.”

Cindy said, “Out of the thousands of dollars I have spent on courses or conference upgrades, this is the only one I'm watching the replays and was committed to complete or attend.”

And Michelle is even considering inviting her husband to join in monthly priorities and reflections. That’s when you know something has moved from “course” to “life system.”

The fall waitlist is open, and yes, I’m definitely doing it again. If you know someone who would benefit from Action Club, or if you’d like to be notified when we launch, sign up here or reply to this email.

I also spoke to 500+ accountants on how to Elevate Their Focus. One thing I’ve found interesting lately is that two of my clients with ADHD, when first trying the Powered Path Playbook®, felt like it was too simple. Their neurodivergent brains wanted to complicate it. But once they figured out how to work it (and realized not everything has to be hard and complicated), the playbook became a game-changer.

My philosophy: simplify to amplify. Not everything has to be hard.

In between all that, I went on three walkie-talkies with a prospect, a speaker friend, and a client visiting from Switzerland. It’s the perfect way to get to know someone better and get off our butts, because we all sit in front of screens way too much.

My folks visited, which meant pedicures with Mom at our favorite place and a trip to see the trolls at Dix Park.

Not the mean online trolls who would never be subscribed to this list…the giant, adorable, wooden ones. If you’re within an hour of Raleigh, go.

We also saw my friend Annie perform stand-up, which inspired me to start improv again with my friend Emily.

Yes, and...

RaderCo is feeling extra global this quarter, too. I started with two new coaching clients this week, one from the Netherlands and one from the UK, and I currently have two clients in Switzerland.

I also took RaderCo Marketing Dynamo, Lisa, to Smash House for her birthday. We got crazy, smashing and throwing stuff to an 80s heavy metal playlist. Then we went to a ghost kitchen and had chili mo-mo's. I love this concept to help restaurants save money on kitchen space.

When you get this, I’ll be between a walkie-talkie and lunch with a friend, planning for our time later this month at the Dome House in the mountains, where I’ll be creating my Pocket Guide for Productivity.

On with the Weekender!

Episode 125: You Don't Struggle With Reading. You've Been Told How to Read Wrong.

Reading doesn’t fail people with ADHD. Bad design does.

This episode shows how to remove shame, shrink the barrier to entry, and build a reading habit that actually sticks.

One thing you can do right now: Read five pages while stretching, riding a stationary bike, or walking on a treadmill. Then, stop on purpose.

Sometimes, we need tech to save us from our tech.

RaderCo Screen-Time Specialist Rijul Arora created Digital Reset, an app that helps you break unhealthy screen habits with small daily RESET activities, habit tracking, and accountability—without pretending your phone will magically stop being your boss. 20% off through May 8.

One Thing You Can Do Now: Pick one habit to reset: nighttime scrolling, inbox checking, or social media loops.

Two weeks, 1,300 people, and one manager who called herself out. The last two weeks were full ones. I had the privilege of working with Delta Air Lines for the fourth time. (Bring on the Biscoff cookies!) The topic was Reclaim Your Workday, and one moment stood out. A manager realized mid-session that she was the problem for her direct reports. Interrupting them, going to their desk, stealing their focus. She said it out loud. In front of her direct report. I applauded her for it. Recognizing...

Notifications aren't on to help you be more productive. They're on to get you to use that tool more. Every alert triggers a dopamine response, your brain starts to like it, and so you leave them all on because that's the default. The default is not a strategy. Why it matters: Every notification, even ignored ones, is a microdecision that contributes to decision fatigue Being reactive feels like responsiveness. It isn't. Your clients and your team feel the difference. Badges, alerts, and...

What a Design Day actually looks like... Last week, I spent three days in a dome house in the mountains of Burnsville, North Carolina, with my friend Wendy. I call this Design Days: No email, no meetings, just heads-down focus on one project. She was working on a keynote. I worked on my new book, The Right Things First: A Pocket Guide to Relentless Prioritization. It will literally fit in your pocket. It's with three beta readers right now, and I'll be launching it later this summer. More to...
