Masterminds, Muscles, and Mystery Finds in the Garage
I love having a virtual studio to balance out travel and home life, but nothing beats sitting across from a client in person. Last week, I met with two stars for intensives in South Carolina and Georgia.
One powerful takeaway—could you be leading so loudly (think Siri or Alexa, always ready with an answer) that you’re actually disempowering your team?
Another highlight was our quarterly mastermind retreat for Speakers With Impact Mastermind. We meet monthly over Zoom, but every quarter we gather in person at an Airbnb or hotel to do deep dives into our businesses. Our group has been together since 2017—four originals and one fantastic addition two years ago—and we’ve seen each other through business wins, slow seasons, marriage, divorce, kids heading off to college, medical diagnoses, and more. There is a structured agenda where we go over our Brags, Lessons Earned, Revenue, What We're Currently Working On, and What We Need Help With. This time, we also answered the question "If I had to start my business today from scratch, how would it look?"
We punctuate our breaks with rounds of push-ups!
If you don’t already have a mastermind for your business or profession, I can’t recommend joining one enough. Do your homework, though—these are the people you’ll trust with your biggest decisions (and a big chunk of your VALUABLE time and effort).
Thanks for the funny #truthbomb, Annette!
At home, Kevin and I stuck with our monthly decluttering ritual and tackled the sports section of our garage. Each month, we take on one area—sometimes it’s a closet, or an entire room. It’s so much easier this way, and we always uncover forgotten treasures or realize something deserves a better home. Thanks to my friend Annette for sending me this book cover that had me laughing—because for the love of forgotten discs (yes, we found three), I don’t want anyone cursing me later for holding onto things that make no sense at all.
This week, I worked with CFOs to Reclaim Their Workdays and headed to a life science networking event in Research Triangle Park. While we serve a wide range of industries, accounting/finance and pharma/biotech/life science are definitely strong verticals for RaderCo.
I spent 14 years in clinical research, and who doesn’t love accountants?
Big news from the National Speakers Association—the Work Meaningful Foundation received the Art Berg Technology Grant! This $5,000 award moves us closer to building a Technology Lab in Ghana for 450+ students. I’m honored to be part of this milestone, and if you’d like to help us reach the finish line, you can support here.
I serve on the board of the foundation and have been to this beautiful country twice. If you happen to live near Charlotte, NC, and would like to attend our Afrocare CLT gala on September 19, reply and I'll send you the details!
This can feel challenging when you work in a high-stakes role, but our RaderCo mission is to provide solutions and better systems for building a healthy & productive new world of work.
