RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

Happy International Digital Wellness Day!

Today, we practice a pause with technology and reflect on our relationship with it. This year's theme is digital balance. I'm not a fan of the word digital detox and prefer digital downsize instead. Detox suggests we have a sickness and shouldn't use tech—quite the contrary!

How can we downsize our digital footprint and find more balance with analog activities or be more present?

At RaderCo, we swear by Zoom and Email-Free Fridays. At home, we have phone-free Friday nights starting at 6 p.m. Learn more about unplugging to recharge for digital wellness day and beyond.

I'm a certified Digital Wellness Educator from the Digital Wellness Institute. Did you know you could become one of the first Digitally Well-Certified companies? Reply to find out how!

Last week, our Speakers With Impact Mastermind had our quarterly retreat. My takeaway action was crafting a mini-book from the first month of habits from Work Well. Play More! Perfect for events. Cynthia Barnes, on the far right, had her TEDx talk released this week. If you have a habit of deflecting or downplaying compliments, I highly recommend taking 10 minutes to watch her talk and then take action and say thank you instead! Link to Video

Now, onto a biggie:

My TEDx talk, The Relentless Pursuit of More, is gearing up for launch. I need all you helpers out there to do me a solid and make it a hit! When the video drops, we've only got 72 hours (gulp!) to boost those views. Unfortunately, I won't know in advance so when it hits the interwebs sometime in May, we gotta be ready!

Will you be a helper?

It's an ultra-light lift—all you gotta do is:

  • watch
  • comment
  • share

We'll be throwing a virtual watch party (or two) during that 72-hour window (fun prizes will be in the mix!)

When you get this, I'll be spending a solo Friday at home and completing another section of Beyond The Estate Plan Guide: Important Details Your Family Needs When You Aren't Here to Tell Them.

Then, it's a weekend of mountain biking and chilling at home before jetting off to Portland for a new photoshoot, a speaker's reel, and hanging out with pals.

On with the Weekender!

PRODUCTIVITY QUICK TIP

self-care: why it’s not just on you, but your company too

Do you think it's all up to you to incorporate self-care into your life? I challenge that assumption. Leaders and companies need to look at what can be changed upstream to decrease the need for it rather than providing another meditation app or on-site massage day. One way to eliminate microstressors for your team members is to schedule any emails you send outside their scheduled work hours.

RADERCO CLIENT SUCCESS

P.S. Ready to be a helper when my TEDx comes out? Share the video and/or watch it with us during our launch party! We'll send an invite when the video drops!

...cue the events, AND the connections. I keynoted Reclaim Your Workday and led an Email Extinguisher breakout at the National Society of Accounting Cooperatives conference in Nashville last week. What I love most about these events isn't the stage time. It's the conversations in between. I'm an extrovert, so staying for meals, general sessions, and entertainment isn't an obligation; it's my favorite part. I hear how businesses run, what keeps people up at night, and what problems still need...

Most meeting advice starts too late. Teams shorten meetings, clean up agendas, and tweak invite lists without asking the more important question: should the meeting happen at all? In the latest episode of the Health-Powered Productivity Podcast, I share why meeting overload is usually not a meeting problem. It's a prioritization problem. Why it Matters: Poor meeting culture steals time from high-priority work. Constant interruptions make real focus harder. Better meeting habits can't fix...

Last week, we wrapped the Reclaim Your Workday Action Club pilot, and it exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. This cohort wasn’t about tips. People implemented theme days, stopped “checking email all day,” built vacation buffer days, and started protecting focus blocks. One participant told me, “I took the first vacation I can remember where I didn’t think about work.” Heck Yeah! For an eight-week program, the attendance and completed commitments were well above industry...
