RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

Milestones Reached!

I’ve hit a BIG one—I've finished self-editing my fourth productivity book—Think Work Well. Play More! but for teams & companies.

I didn’t just sit at a desk to do it. I read 40,000+ words out loud over two days while walking, biking, and, yes, hula-hooping! (Check out the LinkedIn post here.) Now, it’s with the amazing Emily Crookston for some polishing.

Meanwhile, I’ve been training 712 accounting pros on how to Work Well Remotely

"This should be mandatory for all remote workers." - Jody Williams

Power tip: Most people think a treadmill desk needs to be at a fast speed, like a workout. Walking at 0.5-1.5 mph is perfect—think strolling, not sweating!

I also showed 338 people how to Break Free From Busy

Remember, don’t let your inbox run your day—tackle one of your top tasks first!

Rhonda Murray was so thrilled with the training that she'll share it with her “distractable friends and family."

I later partnered with Chappaqua School District Leadership to bring movement into their day with walking meetings. Walking side by side can promote openness and honesty and inspire creativity. As a student, I would have loved a walkie-talkie with a teacher, principal, or professor.

In Email Extinguisher, I debunked the myth of "Zero Inbox." Filter or create rules so you don't waste time deleting emails.

I've also been overwhelmed with the people who donated to the village school in Ghana.

We are so close; a few dollars goes a long way there. Every bit helps!

If you feel compelled to skip a latte or dinner out this week to support these amazing kids, please show your support here.

It's also my 50th birthday request: Please don't buy me a gift. Buy an education!

When you get this, I'll be on a plane to an undisclosed destination for my 50th birthday.

Kevin's got it all planned as a surprise.

All I know is that it's somewhere I've never been. It's north, and I need hiking boots. :)

Stay tuned for podcast #100 on my 50 by 50 challenge.

On with the Weekender!

A few months ago, I watched ICE agents try to manage a TSA checkpoint they weren't authorized to run. The line didn't move because the line wasn't the problem. I see the same thing in organizations. We add bodies, create new Slack channels, schedule another check-in, and call it a solution. The actual source of the problem sits upstream, untouched, because addressing it is harder or uncomfortable. The difference between solving what's visible and solving what's real is the difference between...

Closing dance floors, invisible AI teams, and the last Action Club I'll ever run. The past two weeks were filled with so much fun and goodness. I went to Austin to spend four days at my favorite conference of the year, the National Speaker Association Influence Conference. Two keynotes that stood out were: My friend Ross Bernstein documenting one year of cancer treatments while maintaining his business Don Yeager, former associate editor of Sports Illustrated, on what makes high performers,...

I've worked remotely since 2002. Led a team of up to 18 people globally, with no Zoom, no cameras on our laptops or phones, and managed to stay and feel connected. So yes...I've got some street cred ;) Here's what two decades of remote work actually taught me: you can optimize all you want, but you need to relentlessly prioritize first. Why it matters: Remote workers tend to work more hours than in-office peers, not because they're more productive, but because the transition doesn't exist....
