RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

My Happy Place, Recharged!

The National Speakers Association Influence conference in Scottsdale is my professional RESET button. Five days with 900 other speakers—learning, laughing, crying, dancing—and filling my brain and heart so I can bring even more value to you. I drink my own Kool-Aid by following the strategies in my Optimize Conferences podcast episode: take breaks, process notes daily, and walk away with just three actions.

  • A dedicated Design Day in late August to explore AI tools - cabin getaway included.
  • Google Business Profile refresh.
  • New tweaks to how I open & close presentations.

One powerful highlight? A Dear World session that acknowledged my personal mantra.

More highlights:

Hiking the Freedom Trail at sunrise.

Celebrating RaderCo Software Specialist Dawn Bjork's birthday.

Catching up with client and training superstar Melisa Galasso.

Randomly met my former business coach, Shauna Van Bogart, who was there for a friend's award!

For the final night's gala, I wore my Mom's 61-year-old homecoming dress. Isn't that so cool? #ClassicChic

Then it was back home to train accountants and bookkeepers on how to Break Free From Busy. Check out some of their comments:

I also worked with Boston Scientific on how to ruthlessly prioritize, which can feel challenging when you work in a high-stakes role.

One thing I prioritized over a month ago was making time to see Megan while she was home for the summer. I met this UNC rising sophomore shortly after my TEDx talk—she had waited on our table, heard about the talk, and watched it during her break. She came back with a list of points that resonated with her, and it truly moved me. I made a lot of mistakes in my relentless pursuit of “more”—sacrificing my health and husband in the process (both are healthy now!). We’ve kept in touch ever since, and it was such a joy to reconnect.

When you get this, I'll be sipping iced coffee with RaderCo Belonging Specialist Wendy Gates Corbett, and then off to Atlantic Beach for a fun weekend with friends and watching my husband perform.

On with the Weekender!

Do YOUR Slippers Fight Fatigue?

I use the Kytin Parasole slippers—marketed to reduce foot pain and boost circulation—at my standing desk. Do they live up to the claims? Watch my quick review before you buy.

Bonus: Use an anti-fatigue desk mat for even more relief!

Friday Funny (that wasn’t funny then)

I was once forced to deliver a virtual keynote from a nursing home office while my mother-in-law was in hospice. Mid-presentation: Staff in and out, a photocopier flashing & buzzing beside me. The real topper came when 'Mr. Ragtime Man' began a rowdy piano sing-along just next door... The whole story made it into Speechless!—a new book of true, unbelievable speaker moments. Proceeds support the NSA Foundation.

I’ve been in full speaking mode, helping over 800 accountants reclaim focus and manage remote work without feeling overwhelmed. I say actually because let’s be honest, AI still has a ways to go. Two things to remember with AI:...

Show up fully — or don’t show up at all. In-person trainings are powerful — but only if you respect them. When leaders pop in "just to say hi," or participants check email mid-session, it quietly undermines the entire investment. In this podcast, I share my top dos and don’ts for in-person trainings so your team gets every dollar of value — and every ounce of impact. Learn: The biggest ways we sabotage learning How to model focus & presence Why post-training time is a non-negotiable Listen...
