RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

Community, Cash Flow, and C-Suite Convos...

As a member of the National Speakers Association Carolinas Chapter, I recently attended our annual meeting to celebrate the new board. We’re an elite chapter with an unofficial motto that says it all: Together We’re Better. I love this about the speaker community—no competition, just connection. If you don’t have a circle where you can share wins and challenges without judgment, find one... stat.

But after the conference?

I. Was.TIRED. After a week split between Indiana and Las Vegas, plus this meeting, I opted out of seeing my husband perform Saturday night. You know you’ve hit your limit when you put on two different shoes. I’m intentional about my time. I say no, rest, and go to bed early, even if it means missing out. Pushing through and getting sick? That’s a worse trade-off.

What have you opted out of recently because you were taking care of yourself? Or more importantly: What didn’t you opt out of that would have served you better to have made the other choice?

I’m considering a 4-part podcast series on prioritization and how I do it. If you’re interested, hit reply and let me know!

Productivity Power Tip: Block time right after a conference to implement what you’ve learned. Otherwise, those great takeaways just collect dust.

Here’s a 16-minute episode to help you make every event actually count: Optimize Conferences: Pre-Event Strategies to Post-Event Follow-Up.

Next up: My mid-year check-in with my CPA and CFO. Do you do this with your financial advisors? Don’t wait until you wish you’d saved more or feel strapped for cash. If I didn’t have mine, I’d probably live like a pauper, overfund my retirement, and “gift” my specialists extra time and bonuses. My finance team keeps me grounded and balanced.

Then came one of the most special four days of my life—no exaggeration. I gifted Ava, my 18-year-old, newly graduated niece, a trip to Pebble Beach Resort, where I was keynoting for the third time for Business Travel News. The views were gorgeous, the contacts were valuable… but getting to see what an incredible, kind, and mature woman Ava’s becoming? That was the #1 highlight.

We walked the beach, test-drove a Lexus convertible along 17-Mile Drive, and—she had cherries for the first time in her life (criminal!).

I’m so proud I could* happy cry...

Oh yeah… SPEAKING!

I led a session for 65+ C-Suite and senior travel industry leaders on how to Reclaim Their Workday.

A hot topic afterward: Should cameras be on in meetings?

The short answer: It depends.

But we break it down in this Find Your Meeting Mojo - LinkedIn Post

When you get this, I'll be sipping coffee with RaderCo Stress Management Specialist Amanda Chay and heading to lunch with brand genius Annie Franceschi.

On with the Weekender!

PRODUCTIVITY POWER TIP

Spectator or Player?

If your camera's off because you're multitasking, you probably didn’t need to attend the meeting.

Meeting OPTIONAL? Opt out.

Overbooked? Neurodivergent? Eating lunch? Fatigued? Take the video break and just let them know in the chat.

Power Tip: Meetings need players, not calendar clutter.

RADER-WORTHY WORD of the YEAR

Simplify.

I’m simplifying everything: switching to smarter scheduling and coaching platforms, paring down my wardrobe, and tightening up my meal planning... More options? That’s just decision fatigue in a dinner disguise. I even unsubscribed from most podcasts. More input doesn’t mean more clarity.

Less noise. More space.

Your turn—how are you simplifying this year?
