RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

First Goodreads review!

Launch day is almost here!

The first reviews of Reclaim Your Workday are in on Amazon and Goodreads, and it’s been thrilling to see pictures of people with their book copies. The print version is available now, and you can pre-order the Kindle edition for just 99 cents until February 11 (yes, you read that right—99 cents to celebrate the launch!). The audio version is live on Google Play, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo, with Audible and Spotify coming soon.

I'm celebrating on launch day by hosting an Ask the Author session from 1-1:25 PM EST on February 11. You can attend and ask me anything! Questions about the book, strategies I give inside, or even about the launch process.

In the last couple of weeks, I've spoken to over 2,100 accountants about how to Break Free From Busy, Extinguish Email, and Work Well Remotely. For tax accountants, now’s the time to get focused by scheduling uninterrupted blocks of time on your calendar. This no-email, no-chat time will help you avoid mistakes. Personally, I’d prefer my CPA take their time rather than rush and make an error!

I'm in Ft. Lauderdale after speaking to Servier Pharmaceuticals about how to Elevate Their Focus. Have you heard of the Paradox of Choice? It's the idea that while having options can be helpful, too many choices can lead to anxiety, indecision, and dissatisfaction. When faced with overwhelming options, people can become paralyzed by the need to make the “perfect” decision, leading to regret—even if the decision was ultimately good. The concept suggests that fewer options may lead to greater happiness and a sense of control. More choices don't equal freedom. It’s just more variety and for some people, stress.

Speaking of companies saving lives, I'm beyond happy to read that RaderCo client Vertex Pharmaceuticals received approval on the first non-opioid painkiller. I worked in pharma/biotech research for 14 years and know how significant this is on many levels. As someone who has had three family members affected by opioid addiction, this is a massive step in combatting the current crisis in our country. Bravo, Vertex!

January was light on travel, so I made time to meet up with a few key people for coffee or walks. Mindful scheduling is crucial for me, even as an extrovert—I set a “meeting budget” and prioritize. Sometimes, a coffee or walk is scheduled 2-3 months out, but it's a priority when it’s on the calendar.

When you get this, I'll be on the beach. I’ve extended my stay in Ft. Lauderdale until Sunday, and my friend Wendy and I are hitting the 5-star Westin spa this afternoon. I am pre-celebrating the launch since sales and feedback have already exceeded my expectations. WOO HOO!

On with the Weekender!

PRODUCTIVITY POWER TIP

Super-power your meeting notes.

"Do you want to remember more from the meetings you attend? Try taking handwritten notes before saving them to your digital tools. When you handwrite your notes, you process and summarize the most critical data before writing it down. Research on the benefits shows that handwriting activates many brain areas and improves memory and cognitive function." -Judith Guertin, RaderCo Productivity Specialist.

RADER-WORTHY APP

The Way to Simplify

I ditched the Calm app after realizing the endless choices overwhelmed me (see Paradox of Choice above!). Enter The Way. It’s structured, with meditations in order and only showing what you’ve completed—no decision fatigue. Choose 10, 20, or 30 minutes. The sessions fly by more than any app I’ve tried.

RADER-WORTHY LISTEN

HA Recovery Journey and Redefining Success for High Achievers

For 12 years, I lived with hypothalamic amenorrhea and was misdiagnosed with menopause while chasing achievement at the expense of my health. In this podcast episode, I share how I realigned my life, prioritized well-being, and found balance. If you've ever felt the weight of constant striving, this one’s for you.
