Boundaries, Birthdays & Big Impact: A Week of Celebrations & Conversations
After two weeks of being sick and stuck at home, I made up for it with birthday celebrations galore!
Last weekend, we toasted my friend Ali at The Willard rooftop deck. If you haven’t seen her TEDx talk, Turning Paralysis into Purpose- prepare to be amazed—she literally had to translate her own surgery in China!
I also celebrated a milestone birthday with RaderCo’s Executive Crisis Specialist, Becky Sansbury.
With a diverse background spanning hospice chaplaincy, wedding officiation, and caregiver support, Becky brings invaluable expertise to our clients in crisis. Her book, After the Shock, is one of my most gifted reads. One of her many superpowers is helping teams learn to support colleagues during difficult times.
Lunch with my client Linda Trevor, who leads a powerhouse real estate team, was another highlight. Real estate is a high-reactivity field, but setting boundaries—like not replying to texts at 10 p.m. on a Friday or 7 a.m. on a Sunday—is key to sustaining client relationships and personal well-being. We teach people how to treat us by how we respond (or react). Which do you do?
Our Return to the Officepodcast series' first episode (below) is already getting great feedback. Transition isn’t seamless—there will be bumps. Looking upstream and considering all the things that could be challenges along the way can save a lot of headaches.

I’m beyond excited about their new drug—the first non-opioid painkiller on the market. Opioid addiction can start with a single post-surgery prescription, and knowing I’m helping these professionals be more effective at work so they can fully recharge after hours is something I don’t take lightly.
And finally—birthday celebrations continue! I’ll be taking Mr. RaderCo to Jellyfish Girl and celebrating Kevin even more at his Jack the Radio show tomorrow.
