RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

Full-On Book Launch Mode!

The energy is real, y’all! My incredible launch team has been snapping photos and sharing early reviews (if they snagged the print version), and many are already planning changes in their companies. YES!!!

Lisa and I packaged up about 100 first copies to send to people and companies mentioned or quoted in the book. Let’s just say the USPS is getting its cardio lately.

Mark your calendars:

FEBRUARY 11th = Official LAUNCH DAY!

The Kindle version will be just 99 cents (yes, you read that right) for our launch week! The print version is already available, and the audiobook should be ready by then, too. Woot!

Speaking of books, I got a little choked up after receiving the text below from Jay, owner of four restaurants in Greenville, NC, after he read Work Well. Play More! Authors don’t make much money from books, so when we hear about the change they inspire? That’s the real reward.

Wait, what? Don't authors make money? Not really.

Check the math:

Reclaim Your Workday cost me about $20,000 to create (not counting my time, Lisa’s time, or my web designer’s time, and that's less than the average book cost). With a profit of $2.50-7.00 per print or audiobook sale… that’s a LOT of books to sell just to break even.

So why do authors make this big investment and risk ROI?

I can only speak to why I do it:

  1. To help people we’ve never met get to know us and our methods.
  2. To inspire companies to say, “Yes, RaderCo is the partner we need to help us create positive change.”
  3. To learn where RaderCo makes significant impacts. Community feedback (like Jay’s text above) helps us pinpoint (and build upon) RaderCo methods that best fuel our clients and their success. :)

When you read this, I’ll be knee-deep in my launch email campaign—and later unwinding, watching new episodes of Severance with Kevin.

My Little Free Library is finally ready to launch, and I’m ridiculously excited. My handy husband has spent the last month building it, and this weekend we’ll officially open it up to the neighborhood. It’s one of my Top Three personal priorities for the year, so this one feels extra good. To celebrate, I hosted a Books & Banter party with six girlfriends. Everyone brought one book to swap and one to donate, and we answered two questions: What was a pivotal book you read as a child? What’s...

Long lines at the airport last week gave me a timely reminder of a leadership problem I see everywhere at work. Leaders sometimes fix what’s visible instead of what’s broken. The result is just better optics, not better outcomes. There’s a reason this topic is hitting a nerve. Asana reports that knowledge workers spend 60% of their time on “work about work,” and Microsoft reports that employees are interrupted every two minutes by meetings, emails, or pings. That is not a time-management...

You don't need another meeting. You need a message that lands without stealing an hour of focus. Why it matters: • Short async vidoes force clarity and speed decisions. • A single swap can return 26 hours per person per year. What you’ll learn: • When Loom beats a meeting • The five‑part structure that keeps it under five minutes • Weekly swaps to test now • Metrics to track in 30 days Tactics: • Lead with one line: “I am recommending X by Friday because Y.” • Use Loom for tone, visuals, and...
