RaderCo - Weekender Snapshot

Vacation Mode: ON at RaderCo!
It’s all about rest, recharge, and adventure over here!
Christina just got back from Maui and London, Dawn sailed the Caribbean, Becky’s off on a Viking cruise in Europe, Elisabeth hiked Pigeon Forge, and Lisa is headed to Switzerland and Italy. Meanwhile, I’m off to New Zealand and Australia for 2.5 weeks!
Now, about that burning question—how am I managing two weeks away when my right hand (Lisa) is out, too? Ideally, we wouldn’t overlap, but sometimes you just gotta roll with it. For the first 11 days, I’ll cover my inbox and hers—just once daily. Unless it's truly time-sensitive, I'll schedule the emails I reply to send after I return.
No accidental email marathons. I’m not starting conversations I don’t want to keep up while gone.
Catching up, but smart. Emails are scheduled to send for two days after I’m back because Day One is for resetting, not inbox drowning.
Everything else? It waits until I’m back.
I planned ahead with my clients, set expectations, and left no loose ends (including all the streaming passwords for the housesitter). That means nine glorious days of email-free bliss with my husband before I dive back in. And no, Day One back isn’t for meetings except for a quick sync with Lisa. Since we keep everything tight in our ClickUp Project Management System, we can alleviate silly status quo updates and redundant info shares.
Will I check my email on my 24-hour trip? Not on the flight from NZ to LA (there's no WiFi), but if I do, it’ll be because I want to, not because I’m scrambling or have the 'first-day-back-scaries.' Or because the movie choices are 'meh' and I don't have the gift of easily sleeping on a flight (oh, what I would give...), but even then, I'd rather read a book.
And since we just couldn’t go five weeks without a Weekender Snapshot....when you get this, I’m gonna be mid-air, en route to adventures with Kevin!
On with the Weekender!
PRODUCTIVITY POWER TIP
Spare Us the Photo Overload
Your trip was epic, but we weren’t on it—Do your friends & family a favor: trim those 295 photos down before sharing. For the love of smooth flights without delays, no one wants to see 17 angles of the same monkey (he's cute, but really). My husband and I create a shared folder for every trip, ditch the duds, and keep only the best. Then, we make a separate “show-and-tell” folder with no more than 25 pictures (usually just 10-15). If someone really wants to see all 122 photos from Ghana, they can—but, honestly, no one ever has asked (and I wouldn’t ask to see yours either!).

My favorite kind of work doesn’t feel like work at all. Last week was full of face time—the real kind. I spent a whole day with Alexion Pharmaceuticals training managers on email habits, meetings, remote leadership, and healthy WFH behaviors. We even did walk-and-talks to solve problems and connect—my kind of multitasking. Next stop: Blueprint Medicines, where I met up with RaderCo Coach Judith Guertin—our first in-person meeting in 10 years! It was a bit surreal (and very awesome!) to see...
Back in the U.S.!!! And jet lag is treating me like a punching bag... New Zealand and Australia were unforgettable. In 18 glorious days, we hiked 75 miles across jaw-dropping landscapes, developed an irreversible flat white addiction, and laughed hard—a lot (mostly at ourselves). I’m already plotting a speaking tour next March to boomerang back for the Global Speaker Summit and work remotely for a month. Top 3 travel surprises: Customs takes your shoes & snacks very seriously—like, “not even...
